Security preparations for Boracay's peak season being readied

Tighter security preparations are being mapped out as Boracay Island gears for the peak season this Holy Week.
Niven Maquirang, Aklan jetty port administrator, said that they expect more tourists to come to Boracay as long holiday approaches due to Holy Week and summer vacations.
"Right now, we are readying the operation of at least three x-ray machines to be simultaneously operational to ensure the safety and security of every tourist coming to Boracay. Aside from this, our Philippine Navy will also be going around the sea while other members of the Boracay Task Force will be in place," said Maquirang.
The long holiday brought about by the Holy Week or the commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus gave Boracay its highest number of tourists in a year. Tourists coming in usually engulfed in beach swimming, island hopping and partying at night.
"Boracay has remained to be considered the best tropical beach island in the world. As tourists continue to increase, we are also finding new ways how to improve our security preparations to make it world class. Boracay Island is already a world class destination," said Maquirang.
