Boracay Island sends huge delegation to Iloilo’s Paraw Regatta Festival

The Department of Tourism-Boracay and the local government of Malay town will be sending a huge delegation to the forthcoming Paraw Regatta Festival in Arevalo, Iloilo.
Tim Ticar, acting officer of DOT-Boracay said the resort island will be sending 10 paraws to be manned by 70 strong crew and officials. This number is the largest number of delegation that will be sent to the said annual Regatta festival.
"Boracay has been participating in the Paraw Regatta since it started in 1973. The Boracay team has been a constant winner and because of this, we believed that we have more chances of winning if we send more delegation to the said event," said Ticar.
Some foreign nationals are also part of the delegation, making Boracay a team to beat in the annual competition dubbed as the longest and oldest sailing competition in South East Asia.
