International NGO intensifies campaign vs child prostitution

he End Child Prostitution Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes (ECPAT), an international non-government organization (NGO), has revived its intensified campaign in this resort island.

PO3 Christopher Mendoza, information officer of the Boracay Tourists Action Center (BTAC), said the Philippine National Police (PNP) is an active partner of the campaign. Aside from the PNP, the Boracay Land Transport Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BLTMPC) is also an active partner.

"Recently, the PNP, ECPAT and the BLTMPC has distributed stickers among motorized tricycles and motor bancas in this resort island as part of the campaign," Mendoza said in an interview Tuesday.

On February 26-27 of this year, the ECPAT will also hold a training for stakeholders in this resort island.

For years, the ECPAT is actively promoting its advocacy against child sexual abuses here in Boracay.
