PCG opens 24/7 sailing of boats
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has officially announced that it will be opening to the public 24/7 the sailing of boats coming to and from Boracay Island.
PCG-Caticlan Lt. Commander Jimmy Oliver Vingno said only fast crafts will be allowed for the 24/7 rides as boats are only allowed until 10 p.m.
The PCG has opened the 24/7 rides as more tourists are now coming after 10 p.m. because of the summer season.
"Based on the Certificate of Public Conveyance (CPC) given to the motorboat operators, they are only allowed to sail before 10 p.m.," Vingno said.
The PCG also prohibits passengers for a chartered boat for security measures.
The Department of Tourism had noted a nine percent increase of tourist arrivals in the month of March.
