Business, tourism robust under Duterte's leadership

Both the business and the tourism sectors in the province of Aklan have turned robust under the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Ramel Buncalan, president of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Aklan, said that the conduct of business in the province is doing well.

"Because of the sincerity of the Duterte administration and the Philippine National Police to solve the drug menace and criminality, it boosts the trust and confidence of the business sector to have more investments," Buncalan said.

"This is also the same with the strong determination of the President to end corruption at the different branches of the government," said Buncalan.

Aside from business sector, the tourism industry in Boracay Island is also doing well under the Duterte administration.

Niven Maquirang, jetty port administrator, said that from January to December 5 this year, Boracay has already registered 1, 604, 192 tourists arrivals.

"The said figure is already higher compared to that of 2015 over-all tourists arrivals which registered at 1, 560,106. This shows that the Duterte presidency has been doing good for the tourism industry," Maquirang said.
