The Department of Tourism (DoT) is expected to meet with the local organizing team composed of the joint force of the local government of Malay and the Boracay Redevelopment Task Force.
Tim Ticar of the DoT-Boracay said that the meeting is scheduled on July 16 with DoT undersecretary Maria Victoria Jasmin.
"The meeting aims to discuss with the local government its preparation for the possible APEC hosting meeting in 2015," said Ticar.
Jasmin will also conduct an inspection on the roads prone to flooding in this resort island. She will also oversee traffic operation in Boracay.
The DoT reportedly received environmental concerns for Boracay amidst its preparation for hosting the forthcoming APEC conference.
