Australian journalist to feature country's tourism areas
The Department of Tourism (DoT) is preparing a red carpet welcome to an Australian freelance journalist and photographer coming to feature Boracay and other tourism destinations in the country.
Tim Ticar, acting head of the DoT-Boracay, said that the journalist is expected to set foot in Boracay on February 6 to March 7 this year.
"We expect the arrival of Steve Mckenna who has been commissioned by "The Sun Herald" a publication based in Australia to do a 'Beginners Guide' in the different tourism destination in the country including Boracay," Ticar said.
Mckenna is a regular travel writer for the Fairfax Newspaper, Sydney Morning Herald, Sydney-Sun Herald, Melbourne Age, Sunday Express, The New Zealand Herald and the Age.
Aside for Boracay, he will also feature destinations in Metro Manila, Cebu, Mount Pinatubo, Banaue Rice Terraces and Palawan.
"While in Boracay, Mckenna will explore the beach hopping, different island destinations in Boracay, experience the different kinds of sea sports activities, massage, spa, island hopping, island tours and nightlife. He will also take photos on the pristine white sand beach of Boracay, the sunset and the sunshine," Ticar said.
