The Aklan Provincial Police Office (APPO) has officially formed a task group that would ensure the security preparation in time for the anticipated international event here next year.
SPO1 Nida Gregas, public information officer of the APPO, said that they had already organized the Task Group Boracay Asean 2017.
"This means that we are already ready to secure the ASEAN Summit where series of meetings in Boracay are anticipated to be held from February 11 - March 2," Gregas said.
ASEAN delegates all over the Asia-Pacific are excited for such event, which is considered as the golden anniversary of ASEAN.
The 2017 theme is " Partnering for Change, Engaging the World."
This is the third time that the Philippines would be hosting the ASEAN Summit. First was in Manila in 1987 and second in Cebu in 2007.
