Bigger cruise ships to dock in Boracay
The Wallem Philippines Shipping Incorporated plans to invite bigger cruise ships to dock in this resort island.
Maricel Manansala, assistant operations manager of Tramp Agency Division of Wallem, said this is the trend of cruise ship tourism around the world.
The Wallem Shipping is a partner of the Department of Tourism and the Aklan provincial government in promoting this resort island as a cruise ship haven in South East Asia.
Manansala was here Tuesday to welcome the arrival of the MS Century Celebrity, the leading cruise ship of the Celebrity Cruises.
The Wallem Philippines served as the agent of MS Celebrity Century's docking in the country.
Aside from the MS Celebrity Century, the Wallem Philippines is also set to welcome four more cruise ships to Boracay this year.
"The MS Celebrity Century carries 1, 835 passengers mostly European tourists and 837 crews," said Manansala.
The MS Celebrity Century is a 71, 545 gross tonnage ship. The said ship plans to travel 77 ports in 32 countries this year.
