The Boracay Beach Management Program (BBMP)in this resort island is eyeing Coral Refurbishment Project as a possible solution to the worsening problem of beach erosion.
Al Lumagod, project officer of the BBMP, said that the project aims to increase coral reforestation here.
"If there will be an increase of corals, it will be protecting the beach," said Lumagod, a marine biologist.
He also urged both foreign and local tourists going to Boracay to help in protecting the environment of this resort island.
The proposed implementation of the Coral Refurbishment Project is part of the activity under the Coastal Resource Management Program under the BBMP.
