Malay town achieves P315M collection target
The local government of Malay, Aklan reported reaching the target of P315 million taxes collected for this year.
Municipal treasurer Dediosa Dioso said majority of the collected taxes came from the garbage fee and business tax permits.
"The collection is higher than last year which is only P280 million," Dioso said.
The local government of Malay is currently deliberating on the town budget worth P315 million for the year 2013.
Aside from the garbage fees and business taxes, a high percentage of collections also came from the penalties paid by both tourists and residents for violating local ordinances.
Among these ordinances were smoking and eating at the front beach, colorum vehicles, among others.
